Organization:
Cynthia Schuck & Wladimir Alonso
Award Date:
01/2019
Amount:
$100,000
Purpose:
To continue development of a model for evaluating disability-adjusted life year (DALY) impacts of animal welfare reforms.

The Open Philanthropy Project recommended a contract with researchers Cynthia Schuck and Wladimir Alonso for $100,000 to continue development of a model for evaluating disability-adjusted life year impacts of animal welfare reforms. This funding follows Open Philanthropy's February 2018 pilot support, and falls within its focus area of farm animal welfare. They expect to evaluate the merits of a longer renewal of their support in early 2019.

This project was supported through a contractor agreement. While Open Philanthropy typically does not publish pages for contractor agreements, it occasionally opts to do so.
