Sightline Institute
Award Date:
To support Sightline Institute's work on housing and urban development.

The Open Philanthropy Project recommended a grant of $350,000 over two years to the Sightline Institute to support work on housing and urban development. This grant falls within Open Philanthropy's work on land use reform, and represents a renewal of Open Philanthropy's October 2015 support to the Sightline Institute.

The Sightline Institute is a think tank based in Seattle, WA, focused on sustainability issues in the Pacific Northwest. It intends to use this funding to continue promoting the Housing Affordability and Livability Advisory Committee’s (HALA) land use reform agenda in Seattle, and to promote similar reforms nationally by disseminating lessons learned from the Seattle initiative.
