The Small Enterprise Foundation (SEF) is a South African microfinance institution. It offers small loans to groups of people, primarily women, which are repaid over four to ten months.
SEF works in one of the poorest regions of South Africa and targets the poorest members of the communities in which it works. SEF monitors how often and why clients leave the program in order to detect and respond to problems.
