The Open Philanthropy Project recommended four grants totaling $2,110,460 to expand Animal Equality’s farm animal welfare work in Europe. The funding will support corporate outreach and animal welfare campaigns, investigations, and capacity building for Animal Equality’s teams in Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

Animal Equality is an animal advocacy organization that engages in a variety of animal welfare activities. Open Philanthropy previously recommended two grants to Animal Equality, including a $500,000 grant to launch its first international cage-free campaign in 2016. Open Philanthropy's Program Officer for Farm Animal Welfare, Lewis Bollard, is excited to continue supporting Animal Equality due to its track record of successful corporate outreach and investigations to date; his confidence in its leadership team; and the organization’s alignment with Open Philanthropy's strategy to build a stronger farm animal welfare movement in Europe.

This grant falls within Open Philanthropy's work on farm animal welfare.
