The Open Philanthropy Project recommended a grant of £2,000,000 ($2,688,000 at time of conversion) to the Centre for Effective Altruism (CEA) for general support. CEA is a central organization within the effective altruism (EA) community that Open Philanthropy believes has a good track record of helping the community grow. This grant falls under Open Philanthropy's work on growing and empowering the EA community.
