Open Philanthropy recommended a grant of $1,500,000 to the Centre for the Governance of AI (GovAI) for general support. GovAI conducts research on AI governance and works to develop a talent pipeline for those interested in entering the field.
This follows Open Philanthropy’s December 2021 support and falls within its focus area of potential risks from advanced artificial intelligence.
The grant amount was updated in March 2024.
