Open Philanthropy recommended a grant of $2,800,000 to the Centre for the Governance of AI (GovAI) for general support. GovAI intends to use this funding to conduct AI governance research and to develop a talent pipeline for those interested in entering the field.
This follows Open Philanthropy’s May 2025 support and falls within its focus area of potential risks from advanced artificial intelligence.
