Open Philanthropy recommended a grant of $1,000,000 over two years to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Lab to continue to support the research of Professor Kevin Esvelt. Professor Esvelt plans to use this funding to conduct work on topics related to biosecurity.
This follows Open Philanthropy's March 2019 support and falls within its focus area of biosecurity and pandemic preparedness.
