The Open Philanthropy Project recommended a renewal grant of $500,000 to WildAid to support its campaign to reduce meat consumption in the Asia-Pacific region. Open Philanthropy expects WildAid will use the funds to produce public service announcement campaigns featuring celebrities in television advertisements and on billboards in Beijing, Shanghai, and other major Asian cities, including Hong Kong and others.
This grant falls within Open Philanthropy’s work on farm animal welfare. Open Philanthropy wrote more about its decision to recommend grants to support farm animal welfare in China on this page.
