Open Philanthropy recommended a grant of $200,000 to the World Heart Federation to support a congress on rheumatic heart disease (RHD) that will bring together researchers and practitioners to share and discuss research related to RHD. This will include group A streptococcus vaccine research, which Open Philanthropy’s team believes is one of the most promising approaches to reducing the burden of RHD.

This falls within Open Philanthropy’s work on global health and wellbeing.
